And to enable people to benefit from training to improve their riding and lifestyle, and the performance app is a result of that. I am really proud to share this with you guys and hope to help as many people benefit from their training both on the bike and in their lifestyle! Here are a couple of thoughts as to why you should consider training: Training results in being confident, feeling strong, and capable. Training off the bike can improve your riding and benefit your lifestyle Training can help lead a strong and healthy lifestyle and keep the "old man/woman" at the door We designed the training specifically for Mountain Bikers Conveniently, in your pocket. ·2024-7-13This video is a little bit different from most of what you might be used to, but I thought I'd give you a little bit more insight as to why I create content and who I am. So hey, my name is Dave. Content has been a silver lining in my life for the last year and a bit, and something completely different from what I'm normally used to doing. The last time I was this passionate about something, it was racing bicycles. I was all consumed by racing and all it offered. And it's the same now, I am completely lost in creating content, building a business and just enjoying the process. The timing will always be something that I will never be able to explain. I have searched for "myself" and purpose for many years, and it was almost like it found me when I needed it most when my mom passed away. The universe works in weird and wonderful ways, and I feel blessed that I found something I'm truly passionate about in the darkest time of my life. I'm an engineer by trade, and content has been a way to express a bit more creativity in my life, which I have enjoyed because there is technically no right or wrong, you can 100% create and upload whatever you want. Funny enough, I've always enjoyed teaching as well, and hence why my content is generally very tutorial-based. I enjoy giving back the knowledge I have gained. In saying that, I love learning new things and making beginner mistakes, it's a sense of curiosity that fuels me to do better or try different things. This has been my mindset with A2B, try as many things as possible, make as many mistakes as possible, and learn as fast as possible to improve. So if you have read this far, I really appreciate you being on board for the ride, and I hope that you gain some value from my content or at the very least it puts a smile on your dial. Life is short, Dave

·2024-11-9How to Jump your Mountain Bike🤌 The biggest thing I teach people when learning to jump is starting small and trying to maximize your height instead of relying on speed to compensate Use a jump or tabletop you are comfortable with and try generate as much height as possible. Bunnyhopping off the lip and absorbing the bike underneath you Momentum is good, but proper technique is about being able to pop more or less no matter what speed you are approaching a jump with #mtb #mtbshort #mtbtips

·2024-9-11Bicycle Frustration points solved with modern-day solutions💡 A tubeless conversion eliminates the need for a tube and is a far more reliable way of keeping you rolling on your bike. Tubeless sealant works hard behind the scenes to plug little holes out on the trail and also allows you to run lower tire pressure, resulting in better traction than a tube My brand of choice is @stansnotubes I've used it throughout my years of riding and racing, and it's still my favorite to this day #mtb #mountainbike #mtbtips

·2024-9-7E-Bikes really have been a game changer in my riding. I raced bikes for many years and had a lot of fun doing so. I don't have the same amount of time to ride and train as I use to, and my E-Bike has been the reason I've fallen in love with riding bikes again because it allows me to go and play after work or on the weekends and double the amount of trails I would normally ride They may not be for everyone, but they are definitely the future. There is no arguing that Something I've personally really enjoyed has been the weight of the bike. An E-Bike weighs a bit more, but it also gives the bike more stability. I got the chance to ride @giantbicyclesza @giantbicycles Trance X advanced recently, which is a lightweight E-Bike with a full power battery, and I was genuinely impressed. I can not explain how fast a full power motor is on a lightweight E-Bike. And with the range extender added on, I got tired before running out of battery I'd seriously recommend trying an E-Bike before bashing them. It might just change your riding for the better

·2024-8-31Today's video is a bit different, and something a bit unorthodox for you to try A modified seated trackstand From a stationary position, you want to turn your bars and hold the bar with your hand nearest your saddle Throw your feet up onto the front wheel from this position and use them to turn the front wheel to counterbalance yourself Get your other arm up into the air to help you as another counterbalance as well This is a great drill and skill if you want to practice some balance on your bike Or just a good fun challenge between friends! #mtb #mtbskill

·2024-8-27Whipping your bike is one of the most stylish and fun techniques you can learn while jumping. Whipping side is a personal preference and depends on your lead foot. Most people prefer to push their whip in the direction of the rear foot. But it also comes down to a few other factors like how you set up for the takeoff, turning your bars into the whip, your hips opening, and legs pushing. An important thing to understand about whips is that on your upward trajectory, you should focus on whipping (Stepping the bike out) and while on your way down, you should be focussing on straightening the bike out. This leads us to step 1 Step 1 - Choose the Right Jump: Start with a tabletop or a jump with a smooth, predictable takeoff and landing. It’s best to practice on a jump you’re comfortable with and one that has a gentle landing slope to help you get the hang of the whip. Step 2 - Approach with the Right Speed and create a slight curve up the lip: Ride towards the jump at a moderate speed—fast enough to get some airtime, but not so fast that you lose control, you need some time in the air to actually complete the whip. As you approach, get into a low, balanced stance with your knees and elbows slightly bent. Ideally trying to create a curve to start your whip going into the jump Step 3 - Preload the Bike: Just before the takeoff, push down on the bike by compressing your body and the suspension. This preload helps to generate lift and makes the whip more dynamic. Step 4 - Initiate the Whip: As you take off from the jump, turn your bars into the direction of your carve, and open your hips into that direction. Aim to push the back of the bike out with your foot closest to the back of the bike. Step 6 - Control the Whip in the Air: While airborne, use your core muscles to maintain balance and control the whip. You don’t need to push the whip too far—start with small movements and gradually increase the angle as you get more comfortable. Keep your eyes focused on the landing. Step 7 - Bring the Bike Back: Start by straightening up your front wheel and letting it land first, this will help pull the rest of the bike back underneath you. As you near the landing, use your legs and hips to pull the rear wheel back in line with the front wheel. Step 8 - Land Smoothly: Land with both wheels evenly on the ground, absorbing the impact with your legs and arms. Aim to land smoothly and in control, ready to continue riding. Step 9 - Practice and Refine: Whipping takes practice to master, so start small and gradually increase the size of the whip as you gain confidence. Tips: Start Small: Begin with small whips to get a feel for the technique before attempting more aggressive movements. Stay Relaxed: Keep your body relaxed and fluid, avoiding stiffness, which can throw off your balance. (Especially to avoid getting high sided) Engage Your Core: Your core plays a key role in maintaining balance and control while airborne, so keep it engaged throughout the whip. Use Your Eyes: Look ahead to your landing spot rather than down at your bike, helping you maintain control and prepare for a smooth landing. #mtb #mountainbike #mtbtip #mtbtips #whip #mtbwhip

·2024-8-13Manualling is key for bike control and adds a fun dynamic to your riding! 1 - Find a Safe Practice Area: Choose a flat, open area where you can practice safely. A grassy field or empty parking lot is a great start 2 - Pick up enough speed - too slow and you will struggle to hold the balance point too fast, and you could damage your confidence off the bat 3 - Drop your chest and shift your weight back: Feet level, knees slightly bent, and your weight centered over the bike. Keep your arms relaxed and your fingers covering the brake lever. 4 - Shift Your Weight Back: Shift your weight back by extending your arms and bending your knees, using your body to leverage the front wheel up. Push your hips back over the rear wheel and keep your chest low. This motion helps to lift the front wheel off the ground. 5 - Lift the Front Wheel: Pull up with straight arms and push your hips back to lift off the ground. Use your legs and core to control the lift rather than relying solely on your arms. 6 - Find the Balance Point: Once the front wheel is up, find the balance point by adjusting your body position and bending your knees. Keep your arms extended but not locked, and use small movements of your hips and legs to maintain balance. Look ahead and stay focused on your balance. 7 - Use the Rear Brake: If you feel yourself tipping too far backward, gently tap the rear brake to bring the front wheel down. This will help you regain control and prevent you from flipping over. 8 - Practice and Refine: Practice holding the manual for longer distances by finding and maintaining your balance point. Start with short manuals and gradually increase the distance as you become more comfortable and confident. Tips for Success: Stay Relaxed: Keep your body relaxed and fluid. Tension will make it harder to maintain balance. Use Your Core: Engage your core muscles to help control the bike and maintain your balance. Look ahead: Keep your eyes focused on where you want to go, not on the front wheel. Practice Regularly: Consistent practice is key to mastering the manual. Dedicate time to practicing this skill in each of your #mtb #mountainbike #manual #mtbmanual #mtbtips #mtbskill

·2024-8-7Shoulder taps are a valuable gym exercise for mountain bikers, providing a range of benefits that enhance your riding performance and overall fitness. Especially when you might need to hold on and prevent things going bad A couple reasons to add this exercise to your gym routine: Strengthens Core Muscles: Shoulder taps require maintaining a plank position while tapping each shoulder alternately. This exercise engages your core muscles, including the abdominals, obliques, and lower back, which are crucial for maintaining stability and balance on the bike. Improves Upper Body Strength: Performing shoulder taps works the muscles in your shoulders, chest, and arms. Strengthening these muscles helps you control the handlebars better and maneuver your bike with greater precision, especially on technical trails. Enhances Balance and Coordination: Shoulder taps challenge your balance and coordination by forcing you to stabilize your body on three points of contact while lifting one hand. Improved balance and coordination are vital for navigating uneven terrain and maintaining control during rides. Boosts Endurance: Holding a plank position and performing shoulder taps increases muscular endurance in your core and upper body. Enhanced endurance allows you to maintain proper posture and control throughout long rides, reducing fatigue and improving performance. Prevents Injuries: A strong core and stable shoulders can help prevent common mountain biking injuries, such as lower back pain and shoulder strains. Incorporating shoulder taps into your routine helps build the muscular support needed to withstand the physical demands of riding. Supports Full-Body Stability: The dynamic nature of shoulder taps promotes overall body stability, which is crucial for maintaining a balanced and efficient riding position. Improved stability translates to better control and confidence on the bike. #mtb #mountainbike #mtbfitness #mtbtraining

·2024-8-4So the wheelie doesn't have any real value in terms of going faster. But it does offer some great value in terms of balance and bike control for your riding. (And potentially get some street cred points from your mates) Here's a quick guide to practicing How to Wheelie: 1 -Find a Safe Practice Area: Choose a flat, open area with minimal obstacles where you can practice safely. 2 - Start in a Low Gear: Begin in a low to medium gear to make it easier to lift the front wheel. 3 - Position Your Body: Sit back on the saddle and keep your pedals level. Your weight should be slightly behind the bike’s centre. Get your lead foot to the top of the stroke. 4 - Front Wheel Lift: Pedal forward while pulling up on the handlebars. Use your body weight to shift back and help lift the front wheel off the ground. Keep your arms straight and look ahead. 5 - Maintain Balance: Once the front wheel is up, find the balance point by using subtle adjustments with your body and pedaling speed. Keep your core engaged and your eyes focused ahead. You can use your knees and handlebars to counterbalance your wheelie Start with small lifts and gradually increase the height as you gain confidence. Use smooth, controlled movements to maintain balance. Practice regularly to build muscle memory and improve your technique. Get out there and give it a go! #mtb #mtbtips #mountainbike #mtbskill #wheelie #wheelietips
