Over the past two years, I’ve been remixing the lost 1978 Chet Baker album “Love For Sale (Live at the Rising Sun Celebrity Jazz Club)”. The album was thought to have been lost in a fire that destroyed the club, but it was later discovered safely stored in an old, defunct freezer! @Jonathan Huber and I worked on this remix of Milestones as the fourth official remix in the series, reviving some of the legend’s lost music. This particular remix also features Roger Rosenberg, the original saxophonist on the 1978 recording. Roger was 26 when he toured with Chet, and over the course of his career, he went on to work with countless legends, including Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, Gerry Mulligan, and Tito Puente. He is currently a touring member of Steely Dan. Now 72 years old, Roger revisited this piece by recording a video of himself playing the tune 46 years after he first recorded it—bringing a new dimension to the project and bridging generations of jazz history. hey i’m shaan and i moved to the states when i was 14 for boarding school. my family was still in india but i left because i really wanted to be a musician and there was no place i could learn near where i lived. couldn’t have done it without the support of my family and it means so much to me that they have been supportive :) i sing songs sometimes, and other times i make lil ambient instrumental ideas! this song was made and recorded all in one take, along with a set of 11 other songs that were composed and recorded in a day. i do this yearly challenge called picture frames where i try to make an albums worth of music in one day as a time capsule for myself in the future. each songs are recorded onto a tape machine without any editing and all songs are released :) can’t wait to grow old and have a collection of these “picture frames” to look at :) i hope you find some joy in these <3 #ambient #sunset #guitar #hopecore #childlikewonder

i wrote this idea for my project called picture frames! picture frames is an experimental, ongoing art project I started at age 21. It’s the musical equivalent of a time capsule, documenting my adult musical life with a yearly album. Each album follows two key rules: everything must be started and finished in a single day, and every track must be recorded in a single, honest take. I embrace raw imperfection in this project, capturing moments of creativity without polish, re-dos, or editing I often record the songs directly onto a vintage tape machine to preserve their unfiltered authenticity. Each track is titled with the exact time it was recorded, turning the music into personal timestamps of my life I recorded the first Picture Frames album on December 26, 2023, during a single day with friends documenting the process—some of it on Super8 film. Now, at 22, I’ve continued the tradition with a second album, and the songs are expected to start rolling out in spring of 2025 :) This project is a celebration of imperfection, freedom, and growth, offering snapshots of my life through sound <3
